Oracle E-Business Suite on BlackBerry

Groveware’s Mobile Task Manager provides a unified platform for extending workflow tasks from Oracle E-Business and PeopleSoft to BlackBerry smartphones. MTM unifies tasks from each system and provides a presentation layer for enterprise data making it available anywhere and at anytime in the palm of your hand. The application works in both online and offline modes so users can work while travelling or in areas with poor wireless connectivity. Mobile Task Manager allows users to create and complete workflow tasks from both the E-Business Suite and PeopleSoft within the same single interface. This two way interaction means front-line, remote and mobile users can keep critical processes moving forward. Mobile Solutions for Oracle include purchase requisition approvals, expense report approvals, invoice payment approvals, leave request approvals (from PeopleSoft), Time and Attendance approvals (from PeopleSoft) and timesheet submissions (to PeopleSoft).

Purchase Requisition Submissions and Approvals

Mobile Task Manager provides managers the ability to view and approve purchase requisitions initiated by their employees in Oracle iProcurement module from their BlackBerry device. Requests can be initiated by an employee both online or through their own BlackBerry smartphone. The request is processed by iProcurement and the approval task is delivered to the manager who can then decide to complete it via the web or from their wireless device.

Expense Report Approvals

Mobile Task Manager provides managers the ability to view and approve expense reports initiated by their employees in Oracle iExpenses module from their BlackBerry device. Requests can be initiated by an employee both online or through their own BlackBerry smartphone. The request is processed by the Oracle e-Business Suite iExpenses module and the approval task is delivered to the manager who can then decide to complete it via the web or from their wireless device.

Invoice Payment Approvals

Invoice payments and approvals can also be completed from Mobile Task Manager on a manager’s BlackBerry smartphone. Invoices can be initiated by an employee both online or through their own BlackBerry smartphone. The request is processed by Oracle and the approval task is delivered to the manager who can then decide to complete it via the web or from their wireless device.

Leave Requests

For PeopleSoft clients, MTM provides both the ability for users to request time off directly from their device and for managers to approve those requests. A request for time off submitted from the BlackBerry device triggers an event in PeopleSoft which creates the approval task for the manager. The request for approval is then available to the manager to approve either online or over their BlackBerry device in the same manner as a timesheet approval.

Time and Attendance

MTM provides managers the ability to perform remote approvals of timecards from their BlackBerry devices. Timecards can be sent from PeopleSoft in real-time or in batches on defined daily, weekly or bi-weekly basis and pushed down to the appropriate managers BlackBerry smartphone for approval. Managers can view the specific details of each individuals timecard, including highlighted exceptions and approve them all one at a time or in groups. Multiple views allow managers to make informed decisions on whether to approve or reject a timecard. Flagged exceptions force managers to acknowledge that they have reviewed any timecard which did not meet standard business practices. MTM can enforce business rules relating to manager approval of overtime, the handling of sick days and enforcement of late-in/early-out policies.

Timesheets

MTM provides users the ability to submit their timesheets from their BlackBerry device back to PeopleSoft. Employees fill in their timecard using the interface on the BlackBerry smartphone. At the end of the week they submit their timecard back into the PeopleSoft system where they can sign it off and submit it to their manager for approval.
